I have a dream...

Last week in English class, we listened one of the most famous speeches in American history: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream” speech. Dr. King's speech was a turning point in the civil rights movement in the U.S., and an important part of our country's history. Although I have heard it many times, I am always inspired by Dr. King's words. My students listened to the speech, and had such good questions about it's meaning and what happened in our country then and before.

Afterwards, I asked students to write a few sentences about their dreams for themselves or for Indonesia:

Now, today, I will say to you all about my dream. And maybe not only me but also you all in this room moreover all Indonesians dreaming it. I have a dream that one day, Indonesia will be develop. No poorness, unemployment, hunger, corruption, killing, and bad education. I have a dream, that, in general election for this year, Indonesia’s society can to choose the best leaders. The leaders who can listen the voice of Indonesia’s society, the leaders who can make their promise be reality, and the leaders who can make this nation be better than before. I have a dream that all Indonesians will get the true freedom, and their happiness forever.

Internet: the Good and the Bad

Many people think internet has many information. Videos, movie, and if you want to download a song, you can visit to Internet. But Internet not only for education but Internet has site who danger for student for visit in this site. The sites can have negative impact for student, for example site internet pornography.

The Internet can be very useful but also danger. Sometimes in the internet cafe people visit the sites that have pornography. How come?

You know in internet cafe, 40% visiting to pornography site and then 90% visitors are boys. (www.maniak.com). Pornography can also send virus on the computer, for example Hacker and Dacker.

I think you're the student, you're the next generation. You're the leader someday. Use the internet for more useful information. If you just think or always see this everyday about it I think your dreams can't be reality.

Know yourself what you can do and what you cannot do for only you can make you life happy. Hang on to your dreams, no matter difficult positively. Believe that by working, learning and achieving you can reach your goals and be successful.

So, listen, don't visit the internet site that is dangerous for you. It has a negative impact. Use Internet for something useful.
